The banter started after Zaheer Khan pointed out Rohit Sharma’s 100% toss record in the recently concluded T20I series between India and New Zealand. India beat New Zealand 3-0 in the home series. However, India’s record at the toss wasn’t great when it mattered the most. Former T20I skipper Virat Kohli lost crucial tosses in the first two World Cup encounters in which India ended up on a losing side. Toss was played a very crucial role in the recently concluded World Cup.

Khan took to Twitter and wrote: “Still can’t believe India won three out of three tosses in the recent series. Did the coins have a secret chip, just like the currency notes? Just kidding, can you recall more such rare moments? PS: Only Cricketers can reply

Wasim Jaffer, who is known for his chucklesome behavior on social media platforms, was quick to react as he shot back sharing a screenshot of a scorecard, comparing his bowling figures with the pacer.

“Yes winning 3 tosses in a row is rare but not as rare as Wasim Jaffer having better bowling figures than Zaheer Khan” – the former Indian opener tweeted.

Zaheer Khan then fired back with a hilarious response as he too posted a screenshot of a scorecard and wrote: “Equally rare is Zaheer Khan outscoring Wasim Jaffer in not one but both innings of a test match!

Both the stalwarts of the game shifted their focus on coaching after hanging up their boots. Zaheer Khan serves the IPL giants and most successful T20 team Mumbai Indians as the director of cricket operations.

On the other hand, Wasim Jaffer served as a batting consultant for the Punjab Kings. Jaffer is also serving as the chief coach of the Odisha cricket team.
