Virat Kohli’s game as a batsman has rapidly evolved over the years, but it seems like the batsman’s captaincy has evolved too with experience. The Indian skipper had initially predicted about the latter half of the tournament, which is now unfolding before everyone.

Initially, before the start of the World Cup, upon asked about the possibility of a score of 500 being achieved in this World Cup, Kohli had replied that the World Cup could be high scoring but the pressure in the latter half would see teams defend totals such as 250. He had also mentioned that a total of 260-270 would be a great total to defend in the second half of the competition.

So far, Kohli has been accurate. India have successfully managed to bring the pressure onto their opposition and defend targets such as 225 and 269 against West Indies and Afghanistan respectively. He had also said that some teams might be on a roll at first before slumping eventually, which has been the case with England.

Watch Kohli make his initial assessment right below:

India are on the course for a semi-final spot with matches against England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in hand.
