Folowing the cancellation of the first match due to bad administration by the curators, India and Sri Lanka finally went head to head in the second match of the ongoing T20 series yesterday at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. While Team India had a comfortable chasing victory, the main talking point of the match was Virat Kohli. Not because of his knock on the pitch, but his amazing mimicry of teammate Harbhajan Singh’s unique bowling style, and even received appreciation from the man himself!
During the warm up session before the match, the skipper was seen imitating Bhajji’s signature stance before bowling, and his peculiar hand movement while delivering the ball. Even after that, Kohli was seen doing it again, while Harbhajan was himself present on the field, reacting to the funny incident along with Irfan Pathan, before they greeted Kohli.
As Irfan Pathan was heard saying “this is going to go viral”, it definitely has. Watch the Indian captain in his comic avatar in the clip below, courtesy of the Twitter handle of cricket journalist Prasenjit Dey.

Harbhajan, the legend himself was present at the scene with Irfan, who was enjoying his compatriot’s act.
The 39 year old casually humoured: “You people invited me today so I will stand here, and watch how Virat Kohli does my acting,” and laughed over a jesting Kohli, who was also doing Harbhajan’s pose after bowling.
However, Irfan revealed that it was not the first time Kohli did this. “Earlier while playing with him, we have seen this reaction, and the one before that too,” meaning that the 31 year old used to do this regularly.
While Bhajji has not been the choice of Men in Blues’ bowling squad anymore since 2016, the Chennai Super Kings star has been a regular presence in the Indian cricketing scene. Along with former teammate Irfan Pathan, who recently announced retirement from all forms of cricket, yesterday’s pre match scene was a light up.
Winning the toss, Kohli opted to field first, as Sri Lanka put up a target of 143, with Shardul Thakur picking three wickets. The hosts started off the chase with a stormy 45 off 32 from K L Rahul, and the skipper himself who scored a quick 30 from 17 balls, India won the match by the 18th over with 7 wickets remaining.
The third and final match of the series will take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Friday.
