There are a lot of factors that can halt a match of cricket. A sudden drizzle, snowfall, and even if the sun is scorching intensely. Sometimes, fans jump onto the field, or as back in 2017, a car entered the Palam Air Force Ground in a Ranji match between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. However, today’s Ranji game of Andhra vs Vidarbha was intercepted by the slithering reptile that many fear- a snake!

Just as today’s 2019-20 Ranji Trophy Group A match at the Dr. Gokaraju Liala Gangaaraju ACA Cricket Ground in Vijayawada was about to start, a snake entered the field soon after the toss, which paused the game for some time.

The official Twitter handle of BCCI Domestic uploaded a video of the incident. Check it out below-

However, the players kept a cool head on seeing the poisonous animal, and the stadium’s ground staffs were noticed chasing the snake away.

Compared to other animals, there are severe dangers regarding a snake. On the contrary of the here were some hilarious reactions seen in the post.

One user wrote: “It probably came to meet Dinesh Karthik.”

Another joined in: “may be it thinks that, Bangladesh was playing at the ground”

One more commented: “‘Nag’ welcomes men from Nagpur.”

One Twitter user hysterically posted the official logo of Vidarbha, which depicts a snake in it.

Another user mentioned similar thing happening in past, and wittily linked with the teams’s logo.

There have been several instances of bees swarming into the stadium. The most recent one was observed in the Sri Lanka vs South Africa match at the 2019 ICC World Cup at the Emirates Riverside stadium in England. In case of bees, all the on field personnel are instructed to lie flat on the ground on their belly until the swarm of bees leave the area.

This was Vidarbha’s first match against Andhra in 9 years, since their face off at Nagpur in the 2010-11 trophy, and the visitors won the toss and skipper Faiz Faizal chose to field first.

At stumps on day one, the 2018-19 defending champions have scored 26 runs with no loss of wickets, and are training the hosts by 185 runs.
