The rivalry between India and Pakistan remains one of the greatest chapters in cricketing history. However, off the pitch the players share a great bond as can be seen between Pak pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi and Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah. On Sunday, Afridi congratulated Jasprit Bumrah for the birth of his child and also gave the new father some gifts.
A heartwarming video clip shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Twitter saw Afridi congratulating Bumrah for welcoming the newborn and the Indian pacer thanked him for the gift.

Bumrah had left the Indian camp in Sri Lanka last Sunday in order to be with his wife in Mumbai, Sanjana Ganesan for the birth of their child. He would share the news on social media, saying, “Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world. We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it – Jasprit and Sanjana.”
This interaction between the two pacers took place after the India vs Pakistan Super 4 match was called off due to rain. Speaking about the match, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill showcased a great partnership with half-centuries that helped India reach 147 for 2 against Pakistan before rain poured.
The reserve day’s play will start from 3 PM IST onwards, after the rain stopped the proceedings at 4.52 PM this day. India had played 24.1 overs when the rain halted the play and will resume from that point (24.2 overs) tomorrow.
