Watch: Riyan Parag receives some crucial bowling tips from Imran Tahir following CSK-RR clash

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will be remembered for many reasons and one of them for definitely Imran Tahir’s gesture recently. The experienced spinner, who used to be the familiar face in the Chennai Super Kings’ side, was benched for the majority of the competition but that certainly didn’t stop him from inspiring the youngsters.

 

 

Following the game between CSK and Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royals shared a video of Imran Tahir where he can be seen giving some valuable tips of bowling to the young prodigy Riyan Parag. Meanwhile, Parag was seen listening quite obediently while the South African veteran campaigner was teaching him some bowling techniques.

Riyan Parag was working on his pace and Imran Tahir ensured Parag learn all those tricks quite well. By the time the video ended, Parag certainly learnt some valuable tricks and showed some improvements as well which impressed Tahir and he gave a compliment to the young talent too.

Imran Tahir played his first game of the IPL 2020 on Friday when Chennai Super Kings played against defending champions Mumbai Indians. However, it was a rather forgettable game for CSK as Mumbai thrashed CSK by 10 wickets.

CSK could only manage 114 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai Indians reached the target without losing wickets that too within 13 overs. Ishan Kishan opened in absence of Rohit Sharma and did well with the bat, smashing 68 off just 37 deliveries with six fours and five sixes whereas his opening partner Quinton de Kock scored a 24-ball 46. Meanwhile, Tahir bowled three overs where he gave away 22 runs.

As far as the three-time champions Chennai Super Kings franchise is concerned, things are not going their way since the beginning. It became worse when thirteen members of their family got affected by the global pandemic novel COVID-19 which also included two players as well. Along with this, their key batsman Suresh Raina and veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh left UAE for India owing to personal reasons.

Now, their experienced campaigner Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of the remaining games of IPL 2020 due to groin injury. Although they started the campaign with a victory over Mumbai Indians, they soon hit the bottom after that. CSK are placed at the bottom of the IPL 2020 points table with only three wins from eleven games.
