Team India’s young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has once again come into the limelight but for a different reason. While his batting is well praised in the world now, his connection with ‘spiderman’ song too is no longer a secret. And, during India’s indoor session ahead of the 3rd Test at Motera, he did something that stole the limelight.

While the third Test will be starting from February 24 in Ahmedabad, the hosts have started practising and on Friday Pant was seen doing a Spiderman-inspired session in the gym. Team India all-rounder Washington Sundar took to Twitter to post the video where Pant can be seen doing the moves of the hugely-popular character. Sundar also added the background music of Spiderman’s theme to make it more beautiful.

It is also noteworthy that, Pant was caught on the stump mic in Australia during the fourth and final Test match earlier this year, where he was singing when Australia captain Tim Paine was batting: “Spiderman Spiderman, tune churaya dil ka chen”. However, this funny incident went viral on social media and fans got entertained as well.

However, the ICC too joined hands and shared this post:

Rishabh Pant himself joined the fun as well:

However, Pant has been in a prolific form – be it with his keeping gloves or with the bat. Meanhwile, his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin suggested on Sunday that he needs a break from all the comparisons and let him concentrate on his job. “He was constantly compared with the great M S Dhoni for a long time. Now he gets compared for his wicket-keeping with (Wriddhiman) Saha, this that and all that, sometimes it’s just better to give a break and let people build on confidence,” Ashwin said.

He also said that the youngster has been working hard on his keeping as well. And, he also believed these comparisons don’t have a good impact on the youngster. He also shared that Pant has the potential to do well.

“And sometimes, when you are constantly being compared to someone who has done well for years, it can be really hard, I really do feel for Rishabh, on a lot occasions, when I am watching games from home where he is playing the white-ball format. He has definitely got the ability, that is why he is here and I have no doubt he will go from strength to strength,” he further added.
