Prithvi Shaw’s first match after returning from an eight month suspension saw him smash a brilliant knock off 63 in just 39 balls against Assam in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy match on Sunday.
While Mumbai went on to post a comfortable victory, the talk of the match was centered around Shaw, who was making his first appearance after being suspended for ingesting a banned substance from a cough syrup.
Shaw’s splendid knock saw him smash a total of seven fours and two massive sixes. Upon reaching the half century mark, Shaw was seen making a gesture with his bat suggesting that his bat will do the talking.
However, his gesture did not go we with the fans, who felt that he was projecting himself as being over confident.
Shaw is so overrated. Shaw is the next Kambli. He will throw it away with this kind of poor attitude and arrogance.

Against Asam and attitude omg. Definitely got many ducks in international while making a comeback 😂. When bat speak no need to tell anything by mouth.

This is the problem with the young players. Coming Back from a ban, scoring a half century against a relatively weaker bowling attack, and then making gestures. They need to learn to be humble. This over confident kid won't last long in the international arena. MARK MY WORDS!

The match saw both Shaw and Tare put on a 138 run stand for the opening wicket, which eventually paved way for Mumbai to post a mammoth total of 206. In reply, the Assam batters couldn’t get going and surrendered for just 123.
