He did not compete in India during 2022 and 2023 due to international training and competitions. The last time Neeraj competed in India was at the Federation Cup in March 2021, where he won gold with a throw of 87.80 meters.
In the 2024 outdoor athletics season, Neeraj started strong at the Doha Diamond League, finishing second with a throw of 88.36 meters. Where he lost the top spot by a margin of 3 Cms.
Talking about his performance, “Overall I thought it could have been better but the best thing is the consistency. My warm-up throw was really good but the first throw went bad. More importantly, the body didn’t feel very good, I don’t know why, but I still managed an 88m-plus (88.36m) throw,” Neeraj mentioned after the event
