Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni hasn’t played international cricket since India’s elimination from ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. He has been cut off from the list of cricketers centrally contracted by the BCCI, but he still remains the most talked-about person in Indian cricket today.

Fans and media are abuzz as rumours circulate, either of his retirement or of his return, a lot more of the former than the later. Although Dhoni himself is out of the national team, his random appearances here and there in and outside India are adding fuel to different rumours. The mystery of the situation has brought fans to the edge of the seat. Will he retire, or will he return?

In another of his almost randomized appearances, Dhoni appears to have no sense of mystery within himself as he seems to have fun serving panipuri/gol gappa/phuchkas to International bowlers Rudra Pratap Singh and Piyush Chawla. The incident has been recorded by a fan at Maldives, who promptly uploaded it on Twitter.

In the video, MSD methodically adds the ingredients needed to spice up the heavenly yummy Indian street snack and serves one to RP Singh’s plate, who proceeds to thank his once-skipper. Incidentally, RP Singh was recently added to the CAC (Cricket Advisory Committee) by BCCI.

Both RP Singh and Piyush Chawla has played lots of matches under the captaincy of MSD, and Chawla will again play under Dhoni in Indian Premier League 2020, where he represents Chennai Super Kings, having played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the past few seasons. Chennai Super Kings first brought Dhoni for a record value at the very first IPL auction, and Dhoni has since remained at the franchise, except for a two-year stint at Rising Pune Supergiants (2016 to 2017) when Chennai Super Kings were suspended.

Dhoni’s IPL performance will probably be his last chance to show fans and selectors that he is capable to play internationallly for his country again. MSD will obviously try to maintain his brilliant IPL records to get back in the Indian team, where everyone misses him a lot. In fact, Yuzvendra Chahal recently revealed that the team bus still has a seat reserved for Dhoni and no one sits in that signature spot.

New Zealand former captain’s reaction to the team’s coach taking time off after the 5-0 T20 whitewash by India is priceless!
