21 Year Old English opening Batsman Tom Banton has taken everybody by surprise after the English batsman scored 5 consecutive sixes of Arjun Nair in a Big Bash League match.

Brisbane Heats were playing Sydney Thunders in Big Bash League on Monday in a rain effected game as the Heats captain Chris Lynn won the toss and elected to bat first.

Lynn opened the innings with the Young Tom Banton as they seized to score quick runs. They started off well scoring 51 off the first three overs. In came the young off spinner Arjun Nair, who has been playing for the Sydney Thunders for the last 4 season.

Banton took full advantage of the bowler as the 21 year old young English batsman targeted the short leg side boundary and heaved him for sixes in the mid wicket region.

Banton it four off the five sixes in the mid wicket region and became the second fastest cricketer to score a fifty in the history of Big Bash League.  Chris Gayle who played for the Melbourne Renegades has the record of scoring the fastest fifty against the Adelaide Strikers.

The knock by Banton and Lynn help the Heats win the game in a rain affected game as this win helped them get to the fifth position in the points table after the team had started off quite poorly in the early phase of the tournament.

Tom Banton has been impressive in the past one year , he was also the part of the English U19 team in the 2018 U19 world cup .After a very impressive show in the Vitality T20 Blast for the Somerset county team the young opening batsman got a chance to make his senior team debut for England against New Zealand for the T20 series.

He was also in the auction pool for the cash rich Indian Premier League, where he he was bought by Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders for a base price of 1 crore .
