Team all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scored his maiden overseas hundred on Day 2 of the rescheduled fifth Test against England in Edgbaston. This marks the third century of his career and his first against England.
Jadeja has become a dependable batter down the order for India for the last couple of years. His first hundred took a while to arrive, but since then he has reached the landmark on a couple of occasions and has even improved his batting average to over 35.
Compiling his first two centuries at Rajkot and Mohali, Edgbaston marks the first overseas venue where Jadeja has scaled the three-figure mark.
Resuming on Day 2 from his overnight score of 83, Jadeja joined forces with Mohammad Shami to propel India’s first-innings total. The all-rounder got a reprieve after he was dropped on 92 in the slips. He brought up his hundred with a lavish shot on the off side and brought out his trademark sword celebration.

At the time of writing, he is going strong at 103. While India have lost the wicket of Mohammad Shami, they are well on track to reach 400, with only 26 runs more required.
