Chennai Super Kings are now through to their eighth IPL finals out of the ten seasons they have played till date. Chennai had to win the second qualifier, having the lost the first, to make it to the finals. And the experience of the Chennai side had the better of the young Delhi team.
Although Chennai did not have to break a sweat to win the match, they survived a big scare that could have seriously dented their chances. In yesterday’s match, both the CSK openers scored half-centuries. However, in the first over, Delhi could have run one of the two out, had they executed their throws properly at the proper ends.
A major mess-up in calling for the run saw both Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson caught in the middle of the pitch. However, Delhi could not find these batsmen short as their throws missed the stumps on both ends.

After that mix-up, the defending champions were in no mood of going easy on Delhi. Both the batsmen brought up their fifties and eventually, Chennai won with one over and six wickets to spare.
Faf du Plessis had a good start when compared to Watson’s cautious one, as he brought up 50 in 39 balls. Watson joined the party soon enough to score his 50 in 32 balls. Chasing 148 was going to be only too easy after the fifties from these veterans.
Next up is the big finals where the Mumbai Indians are waiting for the Chennai Super Kings. This is going to be a big match as the two teams face each other for the fourth time this season, on Sunday in Hyderabad.
