Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo was on the verge of having an incredible start to the 2019-20 Serie A season with an astonishing goal, but it was cancelled as VAR caught him offside by a narrow margin.
Yesterday’s season opening 1-0 away victory over Parma could have been 2-0, as the Portuguese forward’s 33th minute score from inside the box was already being celebrated with the signature ‘SIUUUU’ by the 34 year old, soon after it was ruled out, as Ronaldo’s shoulder was ahead of the offside line.

The Bianconeri’s solo goal came from their legendary center back Giorgio Chiellini, who deflected in Alex Sandro’s shot from a corner kick rebound in the 21st minute at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
VAR already has been gaining some negative reputation, as recently stated by Liverpool superstar Mo Salah, who took a jab at the review system a couple of days ago.
“I don’t like it. That’s my answer, always. I don’t like it. I love football how it is. It’s like that with the mistakes of the referee, with the aggression from the player sometimes.” the 27 year old Egyptian told in an interview with CNN.
The Old Lady are currently at 2nd position on the league table, behind Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli, who also secured 3 points, beating Fiorentina 4-3.
