Even though Arsenal performed nice in their Sunday Premier League face off against Aston Villa, the main talking point of the match has been the hysterical play acting by their defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who is now the latest target for slacking on Twitter.
Into the 43rd minute, the Greek center back was on a tussle against the Villa forward Wesley Moraes, and grabbed the Brazilian’s leg after going down, and soon after, fell down on the ground covering up his face as The Lions forward only had his knee brushing against him.
The video of the hilarious showcase of charade was posted on Twitter via @chyngyozil. Check out the clip below-

Soon after the match, the Greece international was jumped on by numerous Gunners supporters with tweets, accusing the 31 year old on his effort to get Wesley sent off.
One fan wrote: “Sokratis must have a deathwish. You’re a wheezing old man, and you’ve just tried to get Wesley sent off. He won’t forget that.”
“Sokratis got bullied, punched Wesley, and now feigns injury to try and get him sent off. Dirtiest player in the league after David Silva.” another person twitter.
Express sports writer Matt Maher also went it: “Embarrassing from Sokratis, who clutches his face in an attempt to get Wesley sent-off (zero contact).”
Sokratis joined Arsenal in 2018, following a £17.6 million transfer deal from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
The match at Emirates Stadium saw Emery’s boys securing a 3-2 victory, with goals from Nicolas Pépé, Calum Chambers and Aubameyang.
Aston, although took the lead in the 20th minute with John McGinn’s score, only managed to net in a second one via Wesley himself.
