The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 has been a stage for many surprises and thrilling performances. One such moment was when USA pacer Saurabh Netravalkar dismissed Indian cricket stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in a single match. This event led to a cheeky response from former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer on social media.

Saurabh Netravalkar, a left-handed pacer, had previously represented Mumbai in the Ranji tournament. In the T20 World Cup match against India, he dismissed both the Indian star openers, putting the chase in danger. Virat Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck, marking the first time he was dismissed for zero in any ICC event. Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, was sent back to the pavilion for just 3 runs off 6 balls.

Wasim Jaffer, known for his witty social media presence, took this opportunity to respond to an old post shared by Netravalkar. In his tweet, Jaffer expressed regret for not giving Netravalkar more chances during his time in the Ranji Trophy. His tweet read, “Should have given this guy more chances in Ranji Trophy.”

Netravalkar had posted on social media about his debut back in 2021. In response to this, Jaffer had given a cheeky reply. Now, after Netravalkar’s impressive performance against Team India, Jaffer’s response seems to carry a tone of regret and admiration.

Netravalkar’s journey is quite unique. He played two seasons for Mumbai but decided to move to the USA when he wasn’t getting many opportunities. He joined Oracle as a software engineer and is now representing the American cricket team on the global stage.
