The 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup is just around the corner. The 10 team tournament sees each team play every other with the top 4 go through to the next round.

The mega event hosted by England and Wales is already the talk of the town with the expectations rising up every second. As teams prepare themselves in the build-up for the event, former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has revealed his favourites, on who could lift the World Cup in the summer of 2019.

Laxman feels that it’ll be either India or England who could go all the way in the tournament. Also when asked about whether he is going to remove his shirt at the Lord’s if India win the World Cup, he laughed it off by saying that it is a challenge from Sourav Ganguly to Virat Kohli and he is happy to leave it to them.

“India and England favourites. Being an Indian, I want India to win. I am not going to remove my shirt at Lord’s. That’s a challenge posed by Sourav to Virat. Happy to leave it to them. I don’t have six packs like Sourav had or at least he had the confidence of removing his shirt [at the Lord’s balcony],” Laxman said at the India Today Conclave South.

Laxman’s predictions can eventually pay off as both England and India are currently in red hot form when it comes to ODI cricket. England are currently top of the standings, while India are second in the charts. England will look to use the advantage of home conditions to their favor while India will bank on their previous tour experiences in a bid to lift world cup next year.
