MS Dhoni still has a lot left in the tank. The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is underway and the former Indian skipper looks far away from retiring. The fans have only have one question on their minds, whether or not CSK skipper MS Dhoni will be playing after the ongoing edition of the IPL. Now, former Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag has criticised the repeated questions regarding Dhoni’s future.

Speculations over MS Dhoni’s future continue

Many have been speculating about Dhoni’s retirement from the cash-rich league after 2023. Notably, in Chennai’s last game against Lucknow Super Giants, former New Zealand cricketer Danny Morrison jokingly asked the 41-year-old if he was enjoying his last season, to which Dhoni cheekily responded that Morrison has decided to it be his last season, and not him.

Reflecting upon the same, former Indian batter Virender Sehwag has opened up on MS Dhoni being constantly nagged about the issue. He opined that repeating the same question again does not make sense, and it would be completely Dhoni’s call.

“I just don’t understand; why do they even ask? Even if it’s his last year, why do you have to ask the player? It’s his call; let him take that! Maybe he just wanted to get that answer out of Dhoni—that it was indeed his last season. Whether it’s his last year or not, only MS Dhoni knows,” Virender Sehwag told Cricbuzz.

Chennai Super Kings recently faced Lucknow at the Ekana Sports City Stadium in the 45th game of the tournament. However, the match was eventually called off due to incessant rain and both sides ended up sharing a point.
