Virat Kohli thanks Yuvraj Singh for a ‘lovely gesture’

The Indian batting legend Yuvraj Singh recently inked an emotional letter for the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who responded for the gesture. He shared a thank you note on social media for the former Indian all-rounder. Kohli also recalled the southpaw’s comeback from after winning a battle with cancer and stated that it will remain an inspiration for generations ahead. Previously, Yuvraj presented a pair of golden boots to Virat Kohli. He had stated that Kohli has been an inspiration for youngsters across the globe due to his determination and hard work and Yuvraj also expressed his wish of seeing more memorable knocks from India’s star batter.

“Yuvi Pa thank you for this lovely gesture. Your comeback from cancer will always be an inspiration for people from all walks of life, not just cricket. You have always been generous and caring for the people around you. I wish you all the happiness, God bless @YUVSTRONG12. Rab rakha,” Kohli wrote on Twitter.

Yuvraj and Kohli have been teammates from 2008 to 2017. Yuvraj and Kohli were part of India’s victorious 2011 World Cup campaign as well, where the left-handed batter was named Player of the tournament for scoring 362 runs and picking up 15 wickets. He was named Player of the Match in four of India’s matches and as it turned out, Yuvraj’s final India game was under Kohli’s captaincy against West Indies in July of 2017.

Speaking about Kohli, he recently stepped down as India’s captain from all three formats but continues to be an integral of part of Team India.
