The Indian cricket team has seen some of the finest fielders in the sport, and from fans to pundits, there are countless opinions on who does the job best in squad. Virat Kohli, the skipper and a revered fielder himself, also has his pick on the best fielder India currently has, and its none other than Ravindra Jadeja.

Jadeja has proven himself in field duty a number of times, from stunning boundary saves, dramatic run outs, and superhuman catches that set the stadium on a frenzy. And just like millions of Team India supporters, Kohli also puts the superstar all rounder’s field work from above everybody else’s.

On Wednesday, the official Instagram of Star Sports India put up a post, with aan interesting choice for the netizens of the country: “If you had one shot at hitting the stumps to save your life, who would you choose to throw for you – Jaddu or Virat?” The post had a collage of Kohli and Jadeja in action.

While the supporters were split in their choices, it was a no brainer for the captain of the Men in Blue.

“Jaddu. Everytime. End of debate. 👌Kohli commented.

The skipper has always been open about his appraisal towards his Gujarati compatriot. During last year’s Bangladesh Test series, Kohli stated that Jadeja was ‘impossible to outun’ via a tweet.

“Love group conditioning sessions. And when Jaddu is in the group, it’s almost impossible to outrun him 😃👌. @RishabhPant17@imjadeja” Kohli had tweeted in November during the hstorical Day/Night Test series.

Not just Kohli or the fans, Jadeja has even been praised by Team India’s current fielding coach and former first-class cricketer Ramakrishnan Sridhar, who hailed the Gujarati as “possibly best Indian fielder of decade.”

“Jaddu’s presence on the field lifts the team”s spirits. He is someone who can keep the opposition on their toes with his fielding. He has an intimidating presence on the field,” Sridhar said in an interview with Times of India back in October 2019.

Jadeja has made 49 Test, 165 ODI and 49 T20I appearances for India, and othet than outstanding all rounder performances, he has made 36, 58 and 21 catches across the three formats respectively.
