Virat Kohli mourns his dog Bruno passing away at eleven years

41

On Wednesday, Virat Kohli’s usual Instagram activities such as live chats and photos took a backseat as he went on to post a picture mourning the death of his pet dog, Bruno. The dog stayed close to Virat Kohli for the last eleven years.

“Rest in peace my Bruno. Graced our lives with love for 11 years but made a connection of a lifetime. Gone to a better place today. God bless his soul with peace,” the Indian captain captioned the picture. His wife, actress Anushka Sharma also posted a picture of her, Bruno and Kohli on Instagram, captioning it: “Bruno RIP,” with heart emojis.

This is certainly a sad moment for the Kohli and Sharma, who are spending days at lockdown, and the dog was certainly giving them great company.

Kohli has certainly grown a lot from his days as a teenage star. He showed his ability to lead even as a teenager, leading the U-19 team to World Cup glory. Now he finds himself captaining the senior National Team in all formats, and the IPL Franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Kohli’s form in international cricket over the last decade has been incredible. He has also been an impressive batsman in the IPL since its inception in 2008, although he is one of the less successful captains in the cash-rich tournament.

IPL’s official website describes Kohli as: “The Indian Cricket Team’s Captain, popularly known as the Run Machine, Virat Kohli’s ability and hunger to score daddy hundreds has taken the cricket world by storm. Ranked No. 1 in ODIs, No.2 in Test cricket and No.3 in T20Is is a testimony of how the stylist top-order batsman has evolved over the years.”

“The flamboyant cricketer was the captain of the Indian team that won the 2008 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup and since then there has been no looking back for King Kohli. He is the new-age cricketer who is aggressive and expresses his mind on the field. In 2008, Kohli was inducted in the RCB squad and started leading the side in the year 2013. In the year 2016, he sat atop on the leading run-scorers list, thereby donning the Orange Cap at the end of the ninth edition of the league.”

“The highest paid cricketer in IPL, Virat Kohli was the first one to be retained by his franchise ahead of the IPL 2018 Player Auction and will continue to lead his side.”
