Team India have lost the third T20I against England on Tuesday. While they lost, the captain Virat Kohli has found his good form. He scored another half-century against England in Ahmedabad in a rather dismal batting show from others. Kohli scored 77 off just 46 deliveries and helped India to a decent competitive total of 156 while batting first.

However, that wasn’t enough as Jos Buttler took England to a thumping eight-wicket win over India. But, with the fifty, Kohli did equal a world record during the match as well. Notably, he has equalled the record of New Zealand captain Kane Williamson for the most number of the fifties as T20I captain.

The Indian captain registered his 11th fifty as captain in just 41 innings whereas Williamson has also scored 11 half-centuries as captain of the New Zealand team but he took 49 matches. On the other hand, Australia’s Aaron Finch has 10 fifties in his name that came in 44 matches as skipper. Eoin Morgan (9 in 53 innings) and Faf du Plessis (8 in 40 innings) are the other two players in the top five players’ list as well.

As far as scores are concerned as captain, Virat Kohli stands at number two (with 1421 runs) only after Finch who has 1462 runs as Australia’s T20I captain as well. after Kohli, Kane Williamson (1383), Morgan (1317) and Du Plessis (1273) are the next three in the list of top 5.

However, Kohli has the highest batting average of 47.36 as captain of the Indian T20 format. Babar Azam stands second with 44 and Rohit Sharma placed at third with 41.88. Quinton de Kock has an average of 41.6 and Finch has 37.48 as well. Meanwhile, Kohli became the first male batsman to reach the 3000-run in the T20I format. He has scored 3078 runs in 82 matches at an average of 52.16 and strike rate of 138.96 as well, including 27 fifties.

Despite his stunning form, Team India need to step up to equal the series in the fourth T20I in Ahmedabad on Thursday. However, if they face a defeat, England will be the winner as well with one game remaining.
