Indian wrestling aces Vinesh Phogat, Sarita Mor and Sonam Malik have secured their berths in the upcoming World Wrestling Championships with spectacular wins in the trials which took place on Monday.
Vinesh, a three-time CWG champion and world championship bronze medallist, defeated her CWG trials adversary Antim Panghal, the world U-20 Championships gold medallist with a 7-0 margin to secure the 53kg slot.
Sarita Mor, the world no. 1 59kg grappler who also bagged a bronze in the Worlds, clinched her spot in the 57 kg category with a 4-0 win over Lalita. Olympian and U-20 silver medallist Sonam Malik marked her Worlds spot at 62 kg with a 2-1 victory over Manisha.

Ankush (50kg), Vinesh Phogat (53kg), Sushma Shokeen (55kg), Sarita Mor (57kg), Mansi Ahlawat (59kg), Sonam Malik (62kg), Shefali (65kg), Nisha Dahiya (68kg), Reetika (72kg) and Priyanka (76kg).
The 2022 World Wrestling Championships, the 17th edition of the event, will take place from 10th to 18th September at the Štark Arena in Belgrade, Serbia.
