Alisson Becker recorded his 20th clean sheet of the season in the 5-0 thrashing of Huddersfield Town on Friday.
Liverpool shot-stopper Alisson Becker took his clean sheets tally to 20 after his side wrecked havoc against a struggling Huddersfield Town side to record a 5-0 victory. In a match where Alisson wasn’t tested much, Salah and Mane’s braces along with Naby Keita’s quick opener secured the points for the reds.
With Liverpool enjoying 71% of the possession, it was always going be a walk on the park for Becker, who saw very less ball play in his box. The 20th clean sheet saw him increase his lead in the charts with his countrymen Ederson following him with 18.
Veteran Goalkeeper Petr Cech, who has himself won the Golden Glove award 4 times took to twitter to recognize Alisson Becker’s amazing achievement. In the post that congratulated the Brazilian, Cech also included a list that contained the list of players who kept over 20 clean sheets in a single season.
Congratulations to Allison for reaching 20 clean sheets ( for now ) for the season ! That takes some doing ! #gkunion https://t.co/1Ap2Fq7pK8

The list sees Cech lead the pack with 24 clean sheets which he secured in the 2004-05 season under Jose Mourinho. It also contains some of the greats such as Edwin Van der Sar, Peter Schmeichel and Pepe Reina. Alisson becomes the 5th goalkeeper to join that elite group.
Having secured 91 points already this season, the title still isn’t guaranteed for the Merseyside club. Manchester City have a firm grip on the title race with their fate sealed in their own hands. If Liverpool are to end runners-up, it will be record points total for a second placed team.
