Indian players have shown a great impact on the first day of the second Test where they bowled out the hosts, Australia within 200-mark. However, Tim Paine elected to bat first after winning the toss and played with the same eleven from the first test whereas India brought four changes in their playing eleven which also included Shubman Gill and Mohammad Siraj who have made their test debut.

However, Australia’s opening woes continued in Test in the absence of their key batsman David Warner. Joe Burns fell for a duck by pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. Although another opener Matthew Wade looked in good touch, an early introduction of spin helped them to make breakthroughs. However, Ravindra Jadeja grabbed a stunning catch despite having a collision with Shubman Gill on the field to sent Wade in.

Meanwhile, after having early hiccups, captain Tim Paine survived by an inch when he was adjudged not out by the third umpire over a run-out decision which looked close to an out even with the presence of the technology as well. Paine, who was batting on 6 off 16 balls, went for a single after getting a call from Cameron Green but Umesh Yadav’s throw from the cover nearly sealed the deal where it looked like Paine short of his crease.

The initial replays showed no evidence of his bat crossing the crease after having referred to the decision to the third umpire and Rishabh Pant completed the run-out, but a different angle showed that the bat touched the crease slightly, and the decision went on the favour of Tim Paine.

However, this left everyone in shock as not only fans but Indian players too weren’t impressed. Meanwhile, the stump mics also picked out one of the player’s voice who was saying that there might be something fishy about the decision of the third umpire while it was presumably Pant’s voice, Indian fans didn’t let the chance go even after Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Paine soon.

“Something Fishy. How Did he Not Give That as Out” – Indian Player’s voice was heard on the stump mic.
