THE FAN CORRECTLY GUESSED DETAILS OF VIRAT KOHLI’S INNINGS

The Twitter user named Shruti #100 correctly guessed Virat Kohli’s score and mode of dismissal. She mentioned that Kohli would score 45 runs in 100 deliveries before being bowled out by a Lasith Embuldeniya delivery. After the dismissal, She predicted that the former Indian captain would be shocked and would nod his head in disappointment.

“Kohli Won’t score a 100 in his 100th test. Will score 45 (100) with 4 gorgeous cover drives and then Embuldeniya will knock his stumps over and he’ll pretend to be shocked 😳😳 and will nod his head in disappointment,” the twitter user predicted through her post.

Playing his 100th test match, Virat Kohli batted comfortably and as fans were anticipating a century, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 winner was bowled out by Lasith Embuldeniya. Kohli failed to properly judge a delivery from the 25-year-old Sri Lankan spinner and was as stunned as the spectators after his dismissal.

While the Twitter user correctly predicted the score and the method and aftermath of Kohli’s dismissal, the former Indian captain played 76 balls, 24 short than the predicted 100.

RISHABH PANT AND HANUMA VIHARI SCORED FIFTIES ON DAY ONE

While Kohli failed to score a half-century, Hanuma Vihari and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant did not disappoint, scoring 58 and 96 respectively. Pant and Jadeja stabilized the batting team with a 104 run partnership but the latter missed out on a deserved century by failing to block a Suranga Lakmal delivery. India ended the day on 357 for 6, with Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin unbeaten on 45 and 10 respectively.
