The Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) have made exciting additions to their squad for the upcoming Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) 2024. Indian cricketers Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey will join the team, bringing their talent and experience to the Caribbean stage.
TKR’s retentions and signings ahead of WCPL
TKR has retained five Caribbean players, including captain Deandra Dottin, wicketkeeper Kycia Knight, speedster Shamila Connell, and promising talents Zaida James and Samara Ramnath.
The overseas signings add depth and firepower to the TKR Women’s setup. The team has secured the services of Australian legends Meg Lanning and Jess Jonassen, along with Indian superstars Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey.
Jemimah Rodrigues, fresh off back-to-back half-centuries against South Africa Women, expressed her excitement about representing the Knight Riders in the WCPL. Shikha Pandey’s inclusion adds further quality to the tournament.
Reacting to her inclusion in the TKR, Jemimah said, “This is the first time I will be coming to the WCPL. I’ve played for India in the Caribbean quite a bit, but I am really excited that I’ll be representing the Knight Riders in WCPL.”
“I believe this tournament is also going to serve as a very good preparation for us leading up to the Women’s World T20 in October, with some of the best players in the world taking part in the competition,” she added.
