Trial “ball” by fire: MS Dhoni rolls back the years with a gully cricket video

Currently, in the middle of a break, former Indian captain shared a video of gully cricket and bought nostalgia into the mix by mentioning the concept of “trial ball”.

Before making their break into the big leagues every cricketer must have gone through the ritual of playing gully cricket. Many aspiring cricketers can be found in the streets playing this brand of cricket which varies from place to place, which enhances its beauty.

MS Dhoni posted a video on social media where a player off the very first ball itself, but the batsman refused to walk away claiming that the delivery was a “trial ball”. The World Cup-winning wicket-keeper captioned the post as:

“Wen U know what’s coming and start the camera and u get it in the nxt 1min, sorry for the bad light but it’s the lingo that’s fun trial ball, umpires decision last decision.brings back memory from school days.he wd have never accepted this ever happened if v didn’t have this video.all of us have witnessed this at some point of time in cricket.enjoy.”

Having served his time with his regiment in the Indian Army, due to which he declared himself unavailable for the series against the Proteas, Dhoni has apparently extended his break which means that the veteran will miss the home series against Bangladesh as well.
