After a perfect Australian summer, Captain is confident that the Australian team will present a tough fight to the Indians, when they come visit down under later this year.
Australia had a perfect summer after they clean swept Pakistan and New Zealand in the two test series. Australia defeated Trans Tasmanian rivals by 3-0 to consolidate their position in the World Test Championship Points Table.
Australia are placed at second position at 296 points only behind who are unbeaten with 360 points.
India last toured Australia in 2018-19 where they retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy and won a test series in Australia for the first time in their history after they defeated Australia in the boxing day test.
Australia captain Tim Paine has said that their approach towards test matches has changed and he had a vision of winning all the five test matches in the Australian summer. The Aussie captain said this after Australia defeated New Zealand by 276 runs in the final test at Sydney.
“I think now we’ve got a team together that is really consistent, we’ve got a number of match-winners with both bat and ball and our lesser players have improved a hell of a lot over the last 12 months.”
Australia will nowplay a test series against Bangladesh away from home and then they would play India in a mouthwatering contest at home.
He said that they are a completely different squad to what they were a year ago . With the return of Warner and Smith and the emergence of Labuschange it has helped the team to perform well.
He also regards the series as a tough series and said that both the teams have a lot to offer and have a lot on stake.
The team which finishes at the top of the table of the World Test Championship will play the finals in Lords in June 2021.
