Tilak Varma

Tilak Varma has made history by becoming the first player to score three consecutive T20 centuries. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy opener against Meghalaya, he scored an unbeaten 151 off just 67 balls. His innings included 14 fours and 10 sixes, helping Hyderabad post a commanding total of 248 for 4.

Tilak Varma’s purple patch continues

Tilak’s incredible innings follow back-to-back T20I centuries for India earlier this month in Centurion and Johannesburg during the series against South Africa. With three centuries in 10 days across formats, Tilak has become the epitome of consistency in T20 cricket.

His feat of scoring consecutive T20I hundreds places him alongside Sanju Samson as the only two Indians to achieve this milestone. Tilak is closing in on the 3,000-run milestone in T20 cricket. The young batter already boasts four centuries in T20s, further highlighting his ability to deliver match-winning performances on big stages.

Shreyas Iyer’s Ton

Shreyas Iyer, who was recently released by Kolkata Knight Riders, reminded everyone of his capabilities with an explosive unbeaten 130 off 57 balls for Mumbai against Goa. His knock included 11 fours and 10 sixes, propelling Mumbai to a total of 250 for 4. Goa managed to reach 224 for 8 in their chase, falling short by 26 runs.

Iyer has displayed solid form in domestic cricket after some setbacks in his career. The middle-order batter has overcome India’s heartbreaking loss to Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final, injuries, poor Test form and his omission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) central contract list in style, by winning the 42nd Ranji Trophy title with Mumbai last season, leading Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 10 years and overall third and now displaying some fine form in domestic cricket.

After some disappointing performances in the Buchi Babu Tournament, Shreyas bounced back with some impactful knocks in the Duleep Trophy, in which he scored 154 runs in three matches with two fifties.
