Syrian defender Thaer Krouma has extended his contract with Mumbai City FC until the end of the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season. Krouma initially joined Mumbai City in January 2024 on a short-term contract that lasted until the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
His contributions were pivotal during the successful 2023/24 campaign, which culminated in Mumbai City’s ISL Cup victory over Mohun Bagan SG with a 3-1 win in the final.
Thaer Krouma strengthens Mumbai City’s defence
Thaer Krouma’s contract extension ensures his stay with Mumbai City until 2025. Krouma strengthened Mumbai City’s backline, making eight interceptions, 48 recoveries, and six blocks in 13 ISL games.
He was also a key part of Syria’s impressive run at the 2024 AFC Asian Cup, where the Syrian team conceded only two goals before losing to Iran in a penalty shootout in the Round of 16.
