Terrorists open fire on a cricket match in Pakistan

The terrorists destroyed the grand finale of the Amn Cricket tournament at the Dradar Mamazai area in Ismailzai tehsil in the upper part of Orakzai district on Thursday in Pakistan.

However, eyewitnesses claimed that a large number of spectators which also included political workers and media persons had gathered at the Chanay Ground to watch the final game of the Amn Cricket tournament. They said that as soon as the match started the terrorists opened indiscriminate firing on the playground from the nearby hills as well.

The players, spectators and journalists whoever attended there saved their lives by fleeing from there. Haji Qasim Gul, the local leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam was the chief guest in the game. However, a spectator said that the firing was so dangerous that the organisers had to end the game. Everyone ran for cover to save their lives when the firing started from the nearby hills, he shared. However, no one died because of the incident as per the report.

Meanwhile, Orakzai District Police Officer Nisar Ahmad Khan has said that there were reports about terrorists’ presence in the area and that the police along with Orakzai Scouts and Frontier Corps would now launch a joint operation against the terrorists and other criminals there as well.
