Lasith Malinga, the pace spearhead of the Mumbai Indians did something extraordinary on Thursday. After completing a win against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in the Wankhede on Wednesday, Malinga was on an early morning flight back to Kandy, Sri Lanka to play Sri Lanka’s domestic Super Four Tournament.

What’s more, is that the 35-year-old not only juggled between two countries and two tournaments but also took 10 scalps. In the match against CSK, Malinga came back with the figures of 3/34 in his 4 overs.

The match ended around midnight and on Thursday morning, Malinga was on a flight to Sri Lanka. He not only played a game Galle but also returned with his career-best bowling figures of 7/49, which helped Galle beat Kandy by 156 runs.

The veteran only took rest when his team was batting in the first innings where they scored 255 runs.

The Sri Lanka cricket board had allowed Malinga to play the IPL for the entire month of April. However, ace bowler and Sri Lanks’s ODI skipper, Malinga wanted to play the provincial one-day tournament to have a closer look at the World Cup probables.
