Team India celebrate New Year Down Under, players drop in their wishes for 2021

After having won the second Test and levelled the series by 1-1, Team India celebrated the new year 2021 in Melbourne ahead of the third Test against Australia in Sydney. Meanwhile, KL Rahul has shared a picture on social media where he can be seen along with his teammates Jasprit Bumrah, Mayank Agarwal and other members of the support staff as well.

“New year, New feels, New chances. Same dreams, Fresh starts. 2021” wrote Rahul while sharing the post on Instagram. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also wished their followers on the New Year with the social media post.

India’s stand-in Test captain Ajinkya Rahane also posted a message for his followers in his Instagram stories as well.

“Happy new year everyone!!” R Ashwin tweeted.

“2020 gave us the opportunity to introspect, respect and be grateful. I’m thankful for the chance I received to spend time with my loved ones whilst also being able to go out there and play the sport that I love. Over to you, 2021” wrote Shikhar Dhawan while he posted a picture with his son on Instagram.

“2020 brought a lot of opportunities, growth, and learning for me. I’ll take a lot of lessons heading into the New Year! 2021, ready for what you have in store,” Shreyas Iyer took to  Instagram and shared the post.

Currently, Team India are in Australia to play a full-fledged series where India won the T20I series against Australia 2-1 but lost the ODI series by 1-2 as well. Following that, a four-match Test series have started that is currently tied 1-1 after two Tests.

While Australia won the first Test in Adelaide by eight wickets, Team India took the second Test in Melbourne by eight wickets. The third Test will take place in Sydney from January 7 and the final Test will be played in Brisbane from January 15 as well.
