Once a top tier T20 team, Pakistan is now relying on the mercy of the weather gods to seal a berth in the Top 8 of the ICC T20 World Cup. And all eye’s are on USA vs Ireland game( to be held in Lauderhill, Florida).

As per most reports, Florida is facing a climate crisis with ‘Flash Flood’ warnings in most areas. As per Weather.com, the likelihood of rain is close to 60% and the rains will last till Monday morning (India time).
Rain or No Rain
Despite heavy rain predictions, the city of Lauderhill saw some sunlight yesterday and the ground is fairly dry (as per reports). And one Pakistani journalist on Twitter claims that the likelihood of rain is around 20%.
Pakistan Fate Will be decided today.

T20 World Cup: Pakistan’s Chances in Super 8
Currently, all eyes are on the USA vs Ireland match to see if Pak gets a chance to make it in the Super 8. However, Even if the rain gods bless Pakistan and the game is played, Pak will need a miracle.
Pakistan needs Ireland to win the match and after that they will need to beat Canada (the match will happen in the same venue and rain will be a factor). If the Pakistan game gets washed out, USA will move ahead.
Team USA is on a strong playing spree and are a fav to beat Ireland. If USA beats Ireland, they will make it to the Super 8 and Pak will be knocked out.
So, it looks like Pakistan is very unlikely to make it to Super 8.
