Ever since Team India’s swashbuckling batsman Virat Kohli gave the Men in Blue a historic victory by smashing Pakistani bowlers in their T20 World Cup 2022 clash on Sunday, there has been an abundance of admiration for the former skipper.

King Kohli was the main architect behind an impossible-looking victory for Team India in the match against Pakistan, taking the squad out of a dire situation where they were down to 4 for just 31 runs.

From batting at 15 runs from 25 balls, Kohli turned the aggressor for India, finishing with an unbeaten 82-off-53 with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Even when the chasers were trailing behind 48 runs with three overs to go, Kohli battered the talented Shaheen Afridi, taking 17 runs from his over, and followed up with turning Haris Rauf’s over into 16 runs.

Even when against Mohammad Nawaz’s full-toss, Kohli sent it into the stands, added with the extras in form of wides and no-ball also were the cherry on top to his brilliant match-winning knock.

Amidst the admirers of Kohli is former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal, who has openly claimed that no player from his country would have been able to match the height of Virat Kohli and would handle such level of pressure.

If there was any other batter in his place, the match would not have come this far. Honestly, if this was our (Pakistan) batting we would have lost it by 30-40 runs. We can’t handle such pressure,” Akmal said on his YouTube channel, “I think all our young boys (in Pakistan) who are playing in U15 and U19 camps should be shown the entire innings of Virat Kohli. They will get coaching from watching his innings and how he finished the match.”

“The kind of shots he played against Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz in the last over. Only a batter of his stature can play something like this in modern-day cricket. The way Kohli smashed Rauf for a six straight down the ground, nobody can do that,” Akmal added.
