Virat Kohli in his last game as the T20 skipper led India to pick up yet another comfortable victory in the last Super 12 game of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup and this time against Namibia after defeating them by 9 wickets on Monday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India had put Namibia to bat first and they went on to post 132 runs on the board for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Indian batters responded back well and reached the target score with ease.

Both the teams made one change in their playing XI as Rahul Chahar comes in for Varun Chakravarthy in the Indian squad while Jan Frylinck has replaced Karl Birkenstock in Scotland playing XI.

India restricted Namibia to a decent score as Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin got three wickets each while Jasprit Bumrah got two wickets. Namibia batters had no clue in front of Indian bowlers on the day and yet again their star all-rounder David Wiese top-scored for them with his 26 runs.

The result of this game made no changes in both the teams’ fate in the tournament as New Zealand and Pakistan have already punched their tickets to the semifinals from Group 2.  Chasing the target of 133 runs, KL Rahul (54*) and Rohit Sharma (56) scored half-centuries and stitched to an 86-run partnership for the first wicket. This was the third consecutive fifty-plus opening stand by the Indian batters in the mega event.

With this win, head coach Ravi Shastri finishes his tenure with the side on a high note. After this tournament, Rahul Dravid is set to take over the head coach duties of the national team. India will next take on New Zealand in the home series starting November 17.
