The exchange between cricket and baseball has been growing since the T20 Cricket World Cup, which was co-hosted by the USA. As Americans recognize cricketers and embrace one of India’s most popular sports, Suryakumar Yadav’s visit to Yankee Stadium symbolizes this crossroads of athletic passion.

The jersey’s number 63 holds special meaning. It represents Suryakumar’s journey—from his early days in Mumbai to becoming a vital part of the Indian cricket team. It’s a testament to his dedication and resilience.

The T20I captain is currently enjoying his time off after the conclusion of the T20I series between India and Sri Lanka. The series marked the start of a new era under the head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar.

India registered a clean-sweep win over the hosts with a 3-0 scorecard. Suryakumar replaced Rohit Sharma as the T20I captain, following his retirement from the shortest format of the game. He was not part of the ODI series against Sri Lanka, which India lost 2-0 against Sri Lanka.

Suryakumar eyes a return to Test cricket, and he’s set to play for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu Tournament 2024. His maiden Test call-up in 2023 was a stepping stone, and now he aims to make his mark in the longer format.
