Chhetri led Bengaluru FC’s campaign of this year’s ISL did not go as they might have planned. Needless to say it has been a difficult season for them.
This is for the first time in the club’s history in the Indian Super League (ISL), they could not secure a spot the play-offs. Bengaluru finished the season at seventh position on the table having 22 points against their name after playing 20 matches.
However, the skipper played remarkably as his personal feats are impressive. He was able to net eight goals and assisted twice in 20 appearances he made in the ISL.
The 36 year old also achieved two milestones during the season for the club. One was the completion of 200 appearances for the club and another was that he scored his 100th goal for the club.
The National side captain would be dropped out of the the International friendly as the side is set to lock horns with Oman on March 25 in Dubai. It is also speculated that he is also going to miss the friendly against United Arab Emirates at the same venue on March 29.
Fans are wishing for the speedy recovery for the Indian skipper and as he updated on his health, he is likely to recover soon and will get back stronger on the field.
