Legendary Australian cricketer and batting legend Steve Waugh has picked Indian captain Virat Kohli as the best batsman of the current generation.

He picked Kohli over Kane Williamson, Steve Smith and Joe Root as his batting technique is better than the rest and keeps him apart from the crowd.

I think Virat Kohli has got the best technique. If I told someone to model himself on a particular player I would say Kohli has got a perfect technique,” Waugh told ESPNCricinfo when asked to pick the best batsman of the current generation.

India has been playing exceptionally under the captaincy of Kohli, as India won it’s first ever Test series in Australia. Then the Indian side went on to beat them in the ODI series as well.

Most recently, India has won an ODI series against New Zealand 4-1. Kohli’s dominant batting performance got him the all the three prestigious ICC awards. He won ICC Cricketer of the Year, the ICC Men’s Test Player of the Year and the ICC ODI Player of the Year awards.

Kohli’s runs per dismissal in 2018 is more than Vivian Richards’ in 1979, AB’s in 2012 and Sachin’s in 2001.

This incredible feat definitely makes him the best batsman in the world.
