The third-lowest amount of time a team was bowled out in a Test innings was 14.3 overs, which was batted by the West Indies. Sri Lanka’s 13.5 overs against South Africa in Durban last year and South Africa’s 12.3 overs against England at Edgbaston in 1924 remain the lowest.

1 This was the first time the West Indies had been completely thrashed at home in three or more Test matches. In ninety-five years, this was their 53rd home series of three or more tests.

Both Australia and the West Indies have been bowled out in each of the six innings they have batted in this series, which has resulted in 120 wickets being lost. Following India’s 2018 tour of South Africa, this is just the second time this has happened in a three-test series.

In the historic Test, Mitchell Starc breaks records

After Dale Steyn’s 16634 balls, Starc’s 19064 balls to reach 400 wickets are the second-fastest in terms of balls bowled. After Nathan Lyon, Glenn McGrath, and Shane Warne, Starc is the fourth Australian to reach the milestone.

2. After Irfan Pathan of India achieved a first-over hat-trick against Pakistan in Karachi in 2006, Starc became just the second bowler to take three wickets in the opening over of an innings. According to accessible ball-by-ball data, Starc currently has 23 wickets in the opening over of an innings, second only to James Anderson’s 29.

The fastest five-fer in Test history was made by Starc in 15 balls, surpassing the previous records of 19 balls apiece set by Scott Boland against England at the MCG in 2021, Stuart Broad against Australia in Trent Bridge in 2015, and Ernie Toshack against India in Brisbane in 1947.

4.3 overs The earliest a bowler reached the five-wicket mark in an innings was when Starc finished taking five wickets. Stuart Broad’s 6.1 overs against Australia at Trent Bridge in 2015 was the previous quickest.

at their 100th Test match against Bangladesh at Chattogram in 2006, Starc’s 6/9 record eclipsed Muralitharan’s 6/54. The only other bowler to score a six-fer in their 100th Test match is Shane Warne.

A nightmare for batters from the West Indies

The most batsmen ever removed for ducks in a Test innings were seven in the West Indies’ innings; the previous record was six ducks, which occurred nine times each.

The lowest total by the top six in a Test innings is six runs, which is what the West Indies’ top six have combined. The West Indies’ 14 runs against Australia at the MCG in 2000 are the fewest since the turn of the 20th century, whereas Australia’s 12 runs against England at the SCG in 1888 was the previous low.
