The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Qualifier 2 provided enthralling action with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) overcoming the challenge from Rajasthan Royals (RR) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
RR couldn’t fathom spin
The conditions got better in the second innings for the spinners, displaying typical Chepauk conditions, as SRH made complete use of them with the spin duo Shabaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma to choke RR in the middle overs as they picked crucial wickets and turned the game on its head.
Shabaz picked three wickets from his quota of 4 overs, including that of Yashavi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin. Abhishek scalped 2, of the Skipper Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer.
Sanju Samson’s decision to bowl first anticipating the dew failed miserably for the Royals, as the dew failed to appear at any point of the match, as SRH’s spinners chipped in and sealed the deal.

SRH to face KKR in the final
SRH is all set to face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the coveted IPL trophy. This is Orange Army’s 3rd IPL final. They won their first trophy back in 2016 under David Warner’s Captaincy but failed to in 2018. This time around they would back themselves in these spin-friendly conditions to give a tough fight for KKR.
