Indian sprint sensation from Assam, Hima Das has already made her name around the world when she became the first ever Indian athlete to have won Gold in the 400m final at the IAAF World U-20 Athletics Championship.
But right now Hima Das is travelling 120km to strike a balance between Board exams and her training. According to Hima, her education is as important as her training.
She is currently appearing for her Class 12 board exams which began on 12th February and will last till mid-March. Hailing from The sprinter from Assam’s Kandhulimari village in Nagaon district which is approximately 120km from her Sports Authority training centre Hostel in Guwahati. She is not living in her native village to prepare for the exam.
“I am looking at some major tournaments in 2019 and I am trying to focus on my training along with taking the examination,” Hima told PTI from Guwahati.
“I have made my schedule in such a way that whenever I am getting time from studies, I do my training,” said Hima.
The Federation Cup National Championships which begins with the staring of Athletic season will serve as the selection trial for the Asian Championships (April 21-14), at Patiala from March 15 to 18.
