Highlights of the Paris 2024 Paralympics

India’s success in Paris was driven by exceptional performances across various sports. Track-and-field athletes were particularly successful, contributing 17 medals, including four golds, to the overall tally. Navdeep Singh’s gold in the men’s javelin throw F41 classification was a standout moment, especially after his initial silver medal was upgraded to gold following the disqualification of Iran’s Beit Sadegh for a code of conduct violation.

Preethi Pal made history by becoming the first Indian woman to medal in athletics at the Paralympics, securing two bronze medals in the 100m and 200m (T35) sprints. These achievements have not only elevated India’s status in the Paralympic community but also inspired countless aspiring para-athletes across the country.
