Sports for Life (SFL), a Mumbai-based sports technology company, hosted a grand trophy unveiling event at the iconic Neville D’Souza Football Turf in Bandra (W)
The SFL Football League, a grassroots development initiative featuring young athletes in the U7, U9, U11, and U14 (girls) categories, commenced in November 2024 with participation from over 700 young athletes and more than 60 teams. Over the past four months, the league has received an overwhelming response, with hundreds of parents and fans attending the matches, while many more have followed the action live from their homes. The trophy unveiling event was no exception, attracting a distinguished gathering from Mumbai’s football fraternity.
The event was graced by MFA President Aaditya Thackeray, who attended as the Chief Guest, alongside legendary Indian football coach and Dronacharya Award winner Mr. Bimal Ghosh, who was the Guest of Honor. The audience also included esteemed officials and dignitaries from the Mumbai Football Association (MFA), including , Mr. Udayan Banerjee (Hon Treasurer of MFA), Ms. Suzzane Chowdhry (VP of MFA), Mr. Adv. Ryan Menezes (VP of MFA), Mr. Ajit Sawant Asst. Secretary of MFA), Mr. Dinesh Nair (Chief Advisor of MFA), Mr. Henry Picardo, Mr. Aazar Ansari, Mr. Rohit D’Souza, Mr. Anoop Dubey, Mr. Krishna Pawle ( All Executive Committee Members of MFA)
The unveiling of the trophy marks the beginning of the knockout stage of the SFL Football League, with qualifiers set to commence on March 1. The league will culminate in a grand closing ceremony on March 9.
Notably, SFL is leveraging advanced AI models to analyze player performance and is broadcasting the league live on its app and YouTube channel, making it India’s first-of-its-kind AI-powered grassroots football league.
