Slipping Crease: South Australia bowler evades injury after an awkward landing in Marsh Cup

South Australia bowler Wes Agar luckily avoided a major injury after slipping during his run-up. The incident took place during the very first over of the Marsh Cup clash between South Australia and Queensland.

Agar, who was asked to open the attack for the visitors at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane, unfortunately, slipped near the crease at the bowler’s end on his wrong foot and was lucky to not land his entire body weight on the foot which would have resulted in a horrific injury.

The pacer was, however, able to shrug it off and continued with his over. Agar went onto bowl more five overs after the incident and returned the figures of 0/39. Cricket Australia proceeded to share the video of the incident on Twitter. Check out the tweet below:

The game ended against the favour of South Australia as they ended up losing by 7 wickets. After being set a target of 227, Queensland were able to scale it down with ease. Joe Burns and Matt Renshaw managed to ring the selector’s bell with unbeaten fifties to their names.
