After that, he had undergone an angioplasty during which a stent was implanted in his right coronary artery to clear a blocked artery and he was released from the hospital after a few days. However, this time, he underwent another angioplasty and two more stents were inserted to clear his clogged coronary arteries as well.

Meanwhile, a green corridor was made by the city police for him so that he could reach the hospital as soon as possible from his home. Even, a statement issued by the medical team on Wednesday evening where it was stated that a lot of tests have already done at the emergency ward, but there was “no change in his (vital health) parameters since his last hospitalisation”.

“Sourav Ganguly’s health condition is stable. He had a good sleep at night. All his vital parameters are normal. Senior doctors will carry out a thorough checkup following which a decision will be taken whether to move him to another ward,” the hospital official said to the PTI.

However, the former cricketer was in the ICU on Thursday night after the angioplasty conducted by a team of renowned doctors including the famous cardiologist Dr Devi Shetty and Dr Ashwin Mehta. Meanwhile, his oxygen support has also been removed, as per the official.
