Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI President has been discharged from the Woodlands Hospital on Thursday after he was clinically cleared by the doctors.

The former Indian captain was planned to be discharged on Wednesday but he decided to stay put for another day at the hospital and was finally discharged on Thursday after spending five days.

Following his discharge, Ganguly thanked the hospital personnel for looking after him and said to the reporters outside the Woodlands Hospital: “I thank the doctors at the hospital for the treatment. I am absolutely fine. Hopefully, I will be ready to fly soon.”

It has been informed that the next course of procedures or any further medical interventions will be taking place only after two or three weeks

Ganguly was rushed to the Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata on Saturday, January 2 after complaining of chest pain which he suffered during a workout session at his home.

Further problems he faced was heaviness on head, vomiting and a spell of dizziness.

After the necessary tests, it was informed that he had suffered a mild heart attack. A special three-member team led by Dr Saroj Mondal was formed to carry on an angioplasty on Ganguly.

The former Indian skipper was diagnosed with three blocked coronary arteries after which a stent was inserted in one to remove the blockage.

The treating doctors will be keeping a “constant vigil” on Ganguly’s health and the needful measures will be taken from time to time.

Dr. Rupali Basu, MD and CEO of Woodlands Hospital also revealed that Ganguly would be monitored at home on a daily basis.

Cardiologist Dr. Devi Shetty had also reflected on the matter stating that Ganguly’s heart is now as strong as when he was in his 20s.
