Eden Hazard’s strike at the 84th minute of the match against Bournemouth was enough for the Blues to reach the semifinal of the Carabao Cup. The Blues will face Tottenham Hotspur in the semifinal of Carabao Cup in this season.
Both the sides have given rest to few players match to keep them for the weekend. Though, there was only one goal in this match, it was an end to end action. The Blues were dominating with possessional football in the first half of the match. Bournemouth also tried their best to score from occasional counter attacks.
The Goalkeeper of Bournemouth Artur Boruc was in great form in this match against Chelsea. He made some spectacular saves to keep Bournemouth in the game till the 84th minute. On the other hand, Kepa Arrizabalaga also nullified some attacking threats of the Cherries. However, the Blues were missing a man with the finishing touch. Maurizio Sarri brought in Eden Hazard at the 60th minute of the match in place of Ross Barkley.
The inclusion of Eden Hazard was surely the turning point of the match. An exchange between Pedro, Emerson and Eden Hazard played the pivotal role in Chelsea’s goal of the match. Eddie Howe brought in Defoe to find an equaliser. However, the Blues were able to hold the lead till the end to reach the semis in the Carabao Cup.
