In the picturesque setting of Porpetto, Italy, the ISSF Junior World Cup witnessed an impressive performance by Indian skeet shooter Bhavtegh Singh Gill. On the opening day of qualification, Gill showcased his marksmanship, hitting a remarkable 74 out of 75 targets. This stellar performance secured him the sole third spot in a field of 68 competitors.

Gill’s near-perfect accuracy bodes well for his chances in the upcoming rounds. As all participants return on Monday to complete the remaining two qualification rounds, the top six will then advance to the final. His compatriots, Zoravar Bedi (69) and Munek Battula (66), also participated but were further down in 25th and 47th spots, respectively.
In the women’s skeet category, Vanshika Tiwari led the Indian contingent, securing the 14th spot after the first day of qualification with a score of 67. Meanwhile, Sanjana Sood (66) ranked 19th, and Zahra Deesawala (60) held the 39th position.
